I took class last fall and it was great – enjoyed it and saw results. I love the variety that boot camp offers and working out with a group has been very motivating.  Am much more toned and motivated to continue.  I loved working with my trainer  (much better than working out on my own). This program was sooo worth my time and money. ~Kathleen R.

“I signed up for boot camp to get in shape and be able to bring my daughter while I workout.  I like the workouts with the hand weights and the diverse workouts at each session.  I was pushed to my maximum ability at every class.  Boot Camp has definitely gotten me motivated and back in shape after having my baby.  Working with the trainer has been a wonderful experience.  Our trainer is very knowledgeable and motivating.  I think boot camp is great!” ~Karen P.

I Feel Stronger & Sexier

“12 Weeks ago I was very frustrated and uncomfortable in my own skin.  After having a baby in August, I was anxious to begin working out and losing the baby weight.  However, I didn’t know where to begin or how to motivate myself to do it.  Then a friend told me about the challenge.  I knew it was exactly what I needed to get me started. After week 1 I realized how incredibly out of shape I was. But after the class that day, I knew I didn’t want to feel like that anymore.  By week 6, I was starting to get back in the “zone”.  I started back to my fulltime job which made fitting in a workout a little more difficult, but I made sure I tried.  I noticed that the weights I had been using were getting a little lighter and moved up to the next size (8lbs!) I am able to fit back into my pre-pregnancy jeans!  After 12 weeks, I am not there yet but I  am definitely closer!  I have thoroughly enjoyed boot camp.  My friends tell me in crazy for getting up early on a Saturday morning to workout in the cold (and rain)…It was well worth it!  I can now do at least 25 (modified) push-ups in a row.  I think the first class I could do maybe 3. Nicole and the other trainers not only helped motivate me, they also pushed my further than I thought I was capable.  I feel stronger and sexier than I have in a long time.  Although, my daughter is only an infant, I think it is important to set an example of a healthy environment and hopefully she won’t have the weight issues I have struggled with my entire life. I will definitely be using this 12 week program as catalyst or the rest of my weight loss journey.  Thank you so much for all your guidance and support throughout the program.   Heidi Klincewicz (2nd Runner Up YBB Fall 2009)

I Am Stronger Than I Thought

“I was in a state of denial, full of excuses on why I would never lose weight, be healthier or feel better about myself.  This affected not only my body image but my confidence level in all aspects of my life. I was a “short, pudgy, little Italian” as my husband would lovingly refer to me.  I decided for myself and my children that this decision was right for me.  The Best Body Challenge was introduced to me by a friend.  I knew that this may be my last chance to change for the better or die trying.  At the 6- week point, the Best Body Challenge was intense but not as bad as week one.  As time passed, I was more motivated to go because I loved the results I was seeing and most of all how much better I was feeling overall.  I was happy to see I was starting to lose not only weight but inches from various problem parts  of my body.  Even on days I felt like giving , I kept coming because after our workouts I felt better, stronger and more motivated to see what would happen for me if I continued working hard. [After 12 weeks] I have completely surprised myself with my results.  I lost more weight and inches then I would have ever thought.  My physical and mental state are in a completely different place then they were in the beginning of this challenge.  By far, this has not been one of the easiest things I have done in my life, but it was so worth the journey.  I learned that I am stronger than I thought I was in the past.  I learned to eat better, exercise properly and never give up on yourself, even when it seems completely hopeless.  The discomfort, pain and tears are well worth the results that come of them.  I look forward to continuing my new nutrition and exercise program.  As for the future, I see myself moving forward and feeling better about myself, my body and my body image.  The future looks so much brighter than it did 12 weeks ago.  I have met some great people, both fellow students and especially Nicole  and her staff. I could not thank them more, for all their extraordinary effort.  The words to thank them don’t exist as much as they have done for me.  Their positive attitude is infectious.  Thanks for never giving up on me and helping get closer to my ultimate weight and life goals for myself and my family.    Melissa Corson (1st Runner Up YBB Fall 2009)

I Found Something That Works!

“Twelve weeks ago, I was asked by my good friend Tammy to join with her in the Your Best Body Challenge. I was feeling stressed out and flabby. After three kids, I didn’t feel attractive anymore. I avoided outfits that were too tight and showed my pooch (stomach). I really didn’t exercise often, I think it was because I wasn’t motivated to. I joined the Best Body Challenge to tone up some of my body and to see if I could get under 150lbs (a personal goal of mine – which I’ve struggled with for a year). After 6 weeks in the challenge, I felt great, it hurt a lot but Iike they say “no pain, no gain”. I never doubted myself. Once motivated I knew I would keep going if I kept pushing myself. I was seeing a lot of results. My weight came down a lot! And I felt less stressed and full of energy. What kept me going was that it was working…I found something that works. For once in seven years, I had hope that I could get close to wearing the jeans I wore before I had kids!! After 12 weeks, I have achieved a lot of results (to me they are personal goals). I have lost weight and inches everywhere. I went down in the chest size as well as pants size. My thighs are more toned and my pooch is smaller. My hips and waist are thinned down. And I feel amazing. I feel attractive again and have fun trying on clothes. I am not so insecure anymore! This challenge really helped me change my perspective on life – that you can change things if you really want too. I’m glad I stuck with this through the end, and will continue to do it in the spring or summer. I also want to thank Nicole and all the trainers for their time and dedication to train all of us. I hope to see you all in the next Best Body Challenge.   Nicole Slusarski (Grand Prize Winner of the YBB Fall 2009)

All Worth The Effort

This is my second Best Body Challenge Journey.  I thought it would be the same as the last challenge but to my surprise it was entirely different.  The reason being is because I had a different mindset this time.  I was determined to think about this challenge as a lifestyle change and not just a 12 week journey.  12 weeks ago I was on my way to achieve the Best Body for me.  I set a few goals for myself this time which I hadn’t even thought of  in the last challenge. I wanted to live a healthier life and challenge myself once again with the workouts provided to me by Nicole and her team.   I knew not to get discouraged if I did not see immediate results.  Sometimes, I thought to myself how can I ever get through this workout?  Although, once the workout was over I then felt good and realized that it was all worth the effort!  I pushed myself and each week achieved a different level of working out.  I also changed my nutritional habits dramatically. Nicole impressed upon me that nutrition plays a major part in weight loss and being healthier.   I started to feel very energetic and motivated. Nicole and her team provide constant support and encouragement in order to keep me in line with my fitness goals. They made the Best Body challenge fun even though sometimes I didn’t want to do the exercise that was next.    I looked forward to the workouts each week since I found myself able to do more and more.  By this time I started to see weight loss and my clothes were not as tight.  My family comments on how well I am doing and are excited to see that I have more energy. Another bonus that I never even thought of was that when everyone at home and at work came down with the flu, I did not. I was so glad to find out that good nutrition and exercise also help to boost your immune system.  I was so happy to see that I did not get sick like everyone else (I felt bad for everyone else though).  I really feel that being healthier by working out and eating well helped me in staying flu free. I was sure to keep going now…. By week 12 I realized that physical activity is my number one priority now and my lifestyle change is in full force. With Nicole’s support and nutritional information, I have cut sugar out of my life. I would have eaten at least 6 dozen cookies by now and have been cookie free!  I am so proud of myself and of my accomplishments so far.  I have lost 7.5 lbs and many inches.  The only thing I have gained is lots of muscle. I am happy about that! I feel wonderful and so much better than I did when I started the challenge 12 weeks ago.  I have lost almost one dress size and I am excited to lose more.  I see myself sticking to a healthier lifestyle even more now that I found that physical activity is a huge contributor to good health and well being. I want and need to lose more weight so I know I will stay focused on my new and better me.   Now that I am on the road to good health and well being I want to challenge myself in May for the breast cancer walk.   I do the walk every year in memory of my best friend Dawn. When she passed away from breast cancer, I decided to do the Mother’s Day walk every year.  This year I was thinking on trying to run instead of walking.  This will be a goal that I will hope to achieve and will be extremely excited if I can do that! -Gina M.

I signed up for the Shape It Up Jump Start Program because I wanted to tone up and lose weight. What did I like best about this program?  Everything! I really enjoyed it.  I learned a  lot about nutrition and it helped me to read labels and keep focused on my body.  I now feel more hopeful about how to lose weight.  I really enjoyed working with the trainers I think it greatly benefited from the whole experience.  I need someone to push me.   It’s the best step I‘ve taken for myself in a long time  ~Molly B.

Boot Camp Helped Me Through Rough Times

“To do any kind of workout is a big thing for me, much less starting off with a boot camp.  I was so out   of shape and haven’t worked out in 5 years.  I can’t tell anyone how much this boot camp helped get me through a lot of rough times.  My eating habits, exercise habits, self esteem and energy level has definitely been at an all time high.  The trainer is very motivating, encouraging but also doesn’t take any crap, which is what I need.  I love it and have recommended it to many of my mommy and girlfriends.” ~K.

Boot Camp Has Helped Me Become Stronger

I thought that offering the free classes & the booklet you gave out was a big help. I printed out 45 pages of the food journal & have been keeping track (the good & the bad) of my food which has been a big help in realizing what I have been eating & actually why I was eating, I did mark down my moods when I ate so I could keep track of that as well. Shape It Up has helped me become more fit. My clothes fit better & I feel better about myself. I think that means more than what the scale says (I even posted on facebook one week that the classes where paying off since my butt was looking & feeling a lot firmer). The boot camp class has helped me become stronger, when I started I was struggling to do push-ups & now its not sucha struggle. Squats & lunges where always a favorite of mine & I have learned to love them again.  So at the end I am a “winner” because I am a healthier & happier person. In the New Year I plan on staying on this road & becoming the healthiest person I can be. Thank you for all your help!!                         Satyra O.
